Partied Out

This past Saturday's theme was dubbed Partied Out!  I wanted to get a look of hard night of partying.  I want to thank Brooke the first one to agree to do the concept and Kristina Collins her creatively on the make up.

First off I wanted to give credit to Terry Richardson who has made this type of light setup/photography technique famous.  I dig his work.  I don't understand why other photographers give him grief and call him a hack?  I guess with success comes jealousy and envy?  Someone once said "jealousy is the tribute mediocrity pays to genius".

The style is raw. It's all about the subject and the story it tells.  I always say when photographing people the photos are about the subject and not about the photographer.  It's the job of the photographer to get the emotion out of the subject.

On the Roof with Austin

When taking a portrait of someone you just met and to break the ice... I fell it's best to ask them what they are into or what do they do.  When Austin told me he plays multiple instruments I knew a general direction to go.  It also helped he brought his guitars with him.  He asked acoustic or electric.  I answered acoustic.  Here are some of the photos of that day.

On the Roof with Taylor

I had to admit Taylor's outfit was fun, creative and naughty. She was one of the models that embodied the theme of Saturday's shoot. We chatted a bit and I found out she was a dancer. This give me a direction on where I wanted to go with one of the photos.

On the Roof with Kenya

This was my last shoot this past Saturday.  I had the pleasure of hanging out and photographing Kenya.  The first photo in this post just reminded me that summer has ended.  We had the warmth of the sun peering into my lens accentuated by the bold colors that Kenya was wearing.
