Fells Point Meet and Greet

It was one of those Sundays I wanted to sleep in. OK I want to sleep in every weekend but you have to go out and see the world. That was motivation and it was an event I've told myself I would attend. So I give my friend Mary a call to make sure she is ready to make the trip up to Baltimore. When she picked up she was still asleep and wanted to sleep in. Who can blame a person for wanting to sleep in after a night of partying. But I think I laid a guilt trip on her because we planned a few weeks back to go to this event. Upon Arrival I get to meet Cassandra our unknowing muse for the day. She is a stylist turned model for the day.

It was a good thing we didn't spend the day under the covers. I was able to gain a new friend, hang out with friend, see old buddies and meet new people. Plus the day was full of excitement. Hey what not to like about going on a road trip, eating out by the water front, drinking booze and taking photos.

During the shoot I wanted to use available light. OK I used the available light I brought with me. During the shoot I demonstrated some light techniques I'll plan on teaching during one of workshops I plan on teaching in the near future. I thought I'd share.

A breif moment with Jeanette

A few weeks ago I lucky enough to capture a few frames of the lovely Jeanette. I already had the light set up I wanted to try in my head. With a little brain storming and help I was able to capture the image below. This might of inspired me to travel into the realm of boudoir photography.

Swiss' Maternity Photo Session

What a glorious time in a woman's life. Not only once your baby has arrived, but also celebrating the changes of a mothers body and the miracle of a tiny life within. Every moment only lasts for brief time so preserve these special unique times. What better way to capture that moment in time then a maternity photo session?

In this photo session I wanted to present the art as well to display how beautiful a woman's body can be in this stage of her life. Here is my attempt to deliver something different. The shoot transitioned from soft, to mysterious then to elegant. Who's says a maternity photo session can't be turned into a fashion photo shoot?

Photos taken on my trip to WPPI.

I have to be the first to admit I'm don't take too many photos of architecture or landscape. I tend to focus on portraiture but sometimes it's best to step outside of your box. One thing about shooting scenery you have to search for beauty vs the beauty that's standing in front of you. I have to admit in Las Vegas there are so many cool things to photograph and it's right there in front of you. Here are the some of photos taken, I hope you enjoy them.

As for my WPPI experience I think fellow photographer Paul Price and now new friend summed it up best in his blog post WPPI 2010... Reflections.

January 2010 Shoot Out

Starting the new and just getting out there to creating can hard in the winter months. We find excuses not to go out. It's cold, there is not enough day light, Santa didn't give me cool gifts this year, etc... I'm kind of glad by buddy and fellow photographer Ken said we need to shoot in the studio. Sometimes you just need some motivation and someone to say, Hey get off your rear end!

I have to admit just getting off my butt isn't motivation for me. In our world of it all about "me" sometimes you have to ask yourself, "What can I do to help?" During this shoot I wanted to help the make up artist build their or update their portfolios. What better way to start the year by giving the gift of giving? Here are some of the images taken that day. Enjoy....
