Wedding: Abi & Toks

Celebrating that the night away Abi and Toks spent the whole evening dancing the night away to the beat of drums.  This wedding is going to leave a lasting impression on me.  This is my first time ever attending a Nigerian wedding.

The wedding itself followed the lines of Western style traditions which means the weddings are held in Churches with dresses, suit, reception etc. But during the reception bride couples usually wear traditional clothes have traditional food and a combination of Aerican and traditional music. Here two different cultures are meeting and this is something that has become more common in the Nigerian weddings today. The Western societies are influencing the African societies with the traditional Western wedding norms with white dresses and receptions.

I enjoyed the live performances from this ceremony. It was like being at a concert.

Now it's time for the to head to the reception.

Photographing Abi and Toks' wedding gave me a glimpse into another culture. On half of Tungi and myself I want to thank you for giving us the honor of capturing your wedding celebration. And Tungi Sarumi thank you allowing me to come along it was a blast photographing this wedding.
